Human Resources Intern

As a Human Resources Intern, you will have the opportunity to showcase your business acumen while solving HR challenges. Whether you use data to provide critical insights, build relationships with business partners, or develop a talent strategy, you will support the business and improve process efficiencies.


This project-based rotational program is designed to expose you to key Human Resources pillars and give you an immersive experience of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts and initiatives. While this program is project-based, it is also designed as a cohort in which you and your fellow interns will collaborate and partner throughout your rotational experience. This internship will allow you to explore all parts of HR, provide you the opportunity to develop holistically as a future HR professional and make lasting connections across all of Human Resources.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with all areas of HR during different rotations
  • Analyze data to provide business insights throughout the organization
  • Conduct project work related to each of the rotational stops, including individual and group project work
  • Learn and utilize various HR applications such as Workday, Phenom and Glint
  • Participate in department, company and intern events such as a bus tour, Brewers game, volunteer event and more
  • Typical internship rotations include Human Resource Business Partner, Compensation and Benefits and Talent Acquisition

Supply Chain Intern

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will work to develop and execute fulfillment strategies that improve service, cost, quality and speed.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a logistics project to improve the speed, cost and quality of Heor’s e-commerce fulfillment network
  • Complete data analysis and ROI calculations to support future projects and initiatives
  • Partner across logistics teams at both corporate and within the field to make data-driven decisions
  • Engage in active problem-solving and consistently look for ways to improve

As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will work either at an E Fulfillment Center or at our Corporate Office and have the opportunity to gain experience in a retail supply chain environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a project from analysis to implementation plans, culminating in a final presentation to senior Logistics leaders
  • Projects range from automation technology assessments, process improvements, labor standards development
  • Work as an integral part of the Logistics Industrial Engineering team
  • Partner with operations teams across the Logistics network and interface with external automation and robotics vendors
  • Additional tasks may be assigned

Store Operations & Experience - Industrial Engineer Intern

As an Industrial Engineer Intern, you will work to identify, define and/or implement process improvement opportunities across store processes and projects. You will use data analytics, in-store observations and other process analysis tools to study the behaviors of Heor’s associates and optimize how they interact with processes, equipment, and technologies.

What You’ll Do

  • Use financial and process analysis to identify company initiatives to invest in and process improvements for existing projects and initiatives being executed within stores
  • Determine how to maximize store and project efficiency while considering the associate and customer experiences.
  • Use process analysis tools such as time studies, process simulation and DMAIC/Six Sigma principles to optimize productivity
  • Collaborate with Technology, Finance and Field partners and process owners
  • Develop business cases to understand the financial benefits of technology or equipment changes
  • Refine store labor models to support effective payroll allocation

  • Conduct analysis and present findings to senior leadership, providing relevant information for informed business planning and decision-making and considering the associate and customer experience.
  • Aggregate and summarize data using technical tools, accounting principles and relevant business knowledge
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams and departments throughout the organization
  • Communicate analysis and insights to business partners
  • Provide insight on risks and opportunities to business functional area

What You’ll Do

  • Develop Business Intelligence solutions to support business needs
  • Identify and collect primary and secondary data variables to holistically answer business questions
  • Participate in presentation and knowledge sharing
  • Review and present development with the manager and team members

What Skills You Have

Required
  • Undergraduate Junior
  • SQL, Excel and R/Python programming skills 
  • BI Dashboard and Report Development skills using MicroStrategy or similar BI tools knowledge
  • Data Warehousing skills 
  • Experience in Data Wrangling

As a Store Experience Intern, you will work to identify, define and/or implement improvement opportunities across all stores in training, communication, customer experience or store operations. You will use data analytics, in-store observations and field feedback to improve processes that influence the experience of Heor’s customers and associates.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify opportunities to drive results by elevating the experience for Heor’s associates and/or customers
  • Collaborate with Technology, Finance and Field partners and process owners
  • Use data to measure and validate the benefits of the proposed changes
  • Provide insight on strengths and opportunities around customer and/or associate experience 
  • Participate in presentations and knowledge-sharing
  • Review and present ideas to leaders, managers and team members.
